Remember this???  My favorite bottle of perfume I loved so much... the one that shattered all over Cody's floor last week.  Well, this week he surprised me with a new bottle... such a sweetheart!  I'm so excited and was quite surprised seeing as how his guest bath will forever smell of this lovely floral scent due to my pure clumsiness last Thursday morning.  :)

Love this!!!  I would pair it with jeans, simple top, and sandals or my nude pump considering the occasion.  The bracelet sleeves offer a great opportunity for you to show off a cluster of your favorite bracelets/bangles/cuffs/watch.  You get my point...  buy it, wear it, love it!

I cleaned out my closet yesterday... the unwanted pile looks a bit like this.  Who am I kidding?  The wanted pile looks like this as well!  It's amazing the lovely things you discover when you do a little exploring in your own space.  

What am I doing with all of my unwanted treasures???  My mom and little sis of course... They love when I give my closet a good cleanse!

week-in-review...

Definitely looking forward to this tonight... it's been a "special" week.

Hmm let's see... Monday I took a personal day and took care of some business.  Business including my insane water bill due to a leak in our toilets.  I had no idea our "toilets had been running" so I took that pretty little stack of bills from the past couple months to my apartment manager.  {this is why I live in an apartment... so I don't have to be responsible for breaking pipes, water leaks, broken anything... not my problem}  Well, since I neglected to tell my apartment manager about the leak they aren't planning on taking care of the $400 situation.  HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT MY TOILET IS MESSED UP UNLESS THERE IS WATER ALL OVER THE FLOOR...  I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT A TOILET... MUCH LESS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO RUN!!!!  {Bare in mind... I'm a very calm, understanding individual... my roommate is not}  I told him that I understood the situation but thought it was unfair... we're working on getting something worked out.  If we don't my roommate might flip a lid on maintenance. :)  

More business from Monday... assessing my car... yeah whatever I did it.  Still need new tags.

Monday business that also carried on to Tuesday, Wednesday, and then resurfaced today... MY PHONE IS MESSED UP!!!  I've been having trouble with it for about a month now so I took it in to the provider Monday and had to leave it with a tech for a few hours.  I did and it still wasn't fixed.  So I did the same Tuesday... dropped it off with a tech for another few hours to get it fixed.  Went and got it Tuesday evening... and there is no sound coming from my phone... nothing.  SO, I'm out a ringer and an alarm clock.  Awesome.  Well, I got on the phone with a tech on Wednesday and just told the guy that I needed it fixed... whatever we had to do... I just wanted my phone to work.  Thankfully he sent me a new one, free of charge, and I'm hopeful once again that I will have a properly working phone.  I got my new phone in today... can't freakin figure it out!  I can't activate it on my own so I'm going to have to go spend more precious time with the provider. :)  Oh but don't worry... my old phone actually started making noises today on my lunch break... it literally started chiming uncontrollably.  Now I can't stop it!  Help!

Now onto yesterday morning I was getting ready and I knocked my beautiful bottle of perfume on the floor.  It shattered and perfume went all over Cody's brand new floor... oh I felt so bad!!!  I was in a hurry so I wiped it up with a wet rag and cleaned up the glass and ran out the door.  On my way to work I had a little extra time so I ran by Einstein's to grab a bagel and a tea... went to grab my debit card and it wasn't there.  Hmm... not there.  It's no where to be found.  I retraced all of my tracks and can not find it anywhere.  That was probably the icing on my cake for this week!

Now it's the weekend... thankfully!  I'm ready for a lovely glass of wine or two and then I'm hitting the sack because I have to work tomorrow.  Work on a Saturday???  Yes, I know but it's Race for the Cure so we'll be super busy and it's going to be a great event.  Can't wait!

Let's hope this weekend is a bit more relaxing than this week has been.  I know I've complained... but I do understand that even though being an adult sucks sometimes... I still am a very lucky girl for all of the blessings I have in my life.  These were just a few little speed bumps!

I want this!!  We were just talking about planning a camping/canoeing trip for next weekend.  I can't wait!!!  Although, I will more than likely be wearing my swim suit, a cover up, and a baseball cap... not this cute little DSQUARED2 tee.

heavy heart...

My heart is so heavy right now... 

I received an email from my old boss today that Mason Hiba of Mason's Boutique passed away today.  He was diagnosed with brain cancer about 2 years ago and fought until the end.  Thankfully, he was surrounded by his family during his final days.  Even thinking of his wife and kids makes me hurt... his 2 children are so young.  

It's been over 2 years since I left, but most of you know me through Mason's... it was my home for quite a while.  I worked with Mason for 5 years!  I learned so much from him and his business and I am forever grateful.  So many great memories... 

One of my favorite is when I graduated from college... he gave me a card and told me not to open it until I got home.  {he had thrown a party for all of us grads at the time}  So, I did as he said, but I opened it in the car.  He had written the nicest, most inspirational note in the card and stuck a lovely little/big surprise in the middle.  College grad bonus!!!  Good times!

I contacted an old roommate/dear friend today who had worked with Mason... she said that for some reason, she couldn't pull herself together.  - I feel the same - I saw a post from another friend who used to work with Mason {she was actually my very first manager}... she posted, "reflecting. It seems impossible to accept that out of a negative situation greatness and opportunity are born. We are respectfully humble today."  I would have to say that her post sums up all of our feelings.  

Cathy, thank you for contacting me to let me know before the news got out around town.  To Mason's family... God bless you and the struggles you will face.  My heart hurts for you.

Get ready... it's almost here!!!  Zac Posen for Target will be in stores this Sunday April 25th!  I can't wait.  I wonder what time Target opens???  I'd like to get first dibs... although I love sleeping in on Sundays... decisions, decisions.  Hmm... I do have an appointment with a client around 2.  We'll say sleep in a bit then hit it on the way out of town.  So if you need me between the hours of noon and 2 on Sunday I'll be engulfed in the madness of affordable fashion!  Feel free to take part as well!

I know it's a little delayed... but here's my super busy weekend in a nutshell.  Cody bought a house!  Yay!!!  So we were moving and getting him situated all day Saturday.  It's such a great place and I'm really excited for him.  He deserves it!

Sunday... went shopping with a client in Tulsa.  We had a great time and she got loads of fabulous things!   Although, I did make the mistake of wearing new heels... needless to say I bought a pair of sandals at target to save my feet.  :)

Today... I took the day off.  I needed a day to take care of business.  Got all of my errands taken care of so I spent the afternoon wandering through Hobby Lobby trying to find fun things for Cody's house.  I did!

Now... off to spin class!  Week number 3 of bikini bootcamp and I'm on a roll... minus the pizza, beverages, and peanut m&m's from this weekend.  Oops...

Sometimes I get so busy with life that I don't get to check my blog comments or blog related e-mails until the weekend... I'm so sorry to those of you who comment and I can't get to you in due time.  I normally schedule my posts for the week on the weekend before... usually my only downtime.  My weekdays may as well be a circus show... between all of the working I barely have any time M-F to sit and write.  By work I mean ALL OF MY WORK... my job, styling, the gym, myself (yes I am a piece of work... I'll admit it) and keeping up with the rest of my life... I get too busy.  I'm sorry... I'll try but if I can't get to you during the week then I will on the weekend!

They're back... and I absolutely can't wait!  In the trailer, Aiden is back... yay!  I always loved Aiden.  Even more so because I got to hang out with him a few years ago.  Yes, yes... I'm not kidding.  John Corbet (Aiden) was in town promoting his country music about 5 years ago and my friends and I went to see him.  We were sooo excited!  The 3 of us walked up to him with the biggest, girliest grins on our faces and he says, "Well, look who it is... the pussy cat dolls!"  Yep, that's what he said.  We laughed hysterically, shook his hand, and invited him to meet us out after his signing.  HE DID!!!  We had such a great time!

So I mentioned a fashion show... that didn't happen.  Well, it did, I just didn't make it!  We went to the river yesterday and were there for several hours.  It was so relaxing!  I sat on the bank all day and read my magazine from front to back... every single article.  It was so nice.  Just the relaxing Saturday I needed with the most beautiful weather.

During the Spring and Summer I tend to turn into a little hippie, sort of, maybe just more natural.  I love those days when I can throw on a dress like the one above, a little bronzer, a dash of mascara and I'm good to go!  The weather is working on getting warm just as I am working on slowly building up a little tan.  I love Spring but I can't wait for Summer!

Happy Friday!!!  These 2 cups of coffee aren't the exact cups I am having this morning... but I figured you would get the idea.  It's been a super busy week... I'll be back in full swing soon.  I promise!

I want my hair to grow!!!  So I grabbed these vitamins at wal-mart the other day.  I really like them!  I feel like my nails are growing faster and stronger... my skin I can't really tell a difference... and my hair is trying to grow.  I hope!  I've been growing my hair out since I was 7... not really but it feels like it.   Let's hope this works!  I'll keep you posted.

I saw this in my magazine the other night... and just had to try it!  I'm not normally one to try too many new make up products because I like to stick to what I like... simple.  My make up bag consists of powder, blush/bronzer, eyeliner, mascara, and a few brushes... no joke.  Because my bag is so bare, I thought it wouldn't hurt to add a little nude shimmer to the mix.  I tried it and I love it!  I was glowing all day!  

We'll see if I stick to this one as well... I normally stick to the bare minimum when applying around 6:15 am... when it's still dark out!

My favorite workout regiment... spin class.  It'll get you into shape in no time!  Trust me!!!  I can't finish a class without being completely drenched in sweat.  Most of my classes are about an hour long... and my instructor told us that we burn anywhere from 700-1000 calories in just one class!  {her class is killer though}  My goal... 4 days of spin.  We'll see if my body can hold up!  Standing on my feet all day and then heading straight to the gym sometimes can be a little daunting.  I did it last week so we'll see... I'm really going to try though!  

Speaking of working out... I need new sports bras.  On the hunt for one with good support but not too pricey.  I've heard Target has a good line... I'll check it out and let you know.  Other than that, I really love getting my gym duds at Old Navy.   They have cute pieces that are easy to mix and match.  

  

sick little girl...

This sweet little doll is in the hospital with viral pneumonia.  She is a friend of mine's little girl... isn't she the cutest thing you've ever seen?  I just hate that she is sick.  Hopefully she will be better soon and can come home.  Please keep her in your prayers... every little one helps.  Love you Little Miss Addison!

sandwich extravaganza...

The sandwich extravaganza was a success!!!  No major catastrophes in the kitchen today!  My sister and I pulled off a lovely afternoon lunch... and Mom felt well enough to make it into the kitchen for a bit.   Although this Easter was a bit unconventional for what we are used to... it was still just wonderful.  The best parts of today... the entire family gathered in the living room watching a movie {The Blind Side} ... the egg hunt with my rambunctious little nephew... all of us trying to control our laughter over a little vinegar situation. :)     

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday as well!

Happy Easter!!!

For those of you who know me though... you know my mom has been ill for many years.  She has been doing great for several years now but for the past couple of weeks hasn't been too good.  Let's hope she can get over this one soon!  Anyway, because of this I am playing the parts of Easter Bunny and chef.  Is it sad that it's so much easier for me to play the part of a bunny rather than a cook?  Yes, yes it's true!  Because I'm going to be in the kitchen today, Easter lunch/dinner is going to be easy.  Lots of chips and dips, veggies, and homemade sub sandwiches.  Don't laugh... I'd rather do something I know I can do instead of try to make a masterpiece and it turn out as garbage.  I hope you all have a wonderful Easter... wish me luck in the kitchen.  Surely I can't mess this one up!  

Oh... Easter egg hunt with my 5 yr old nephew on this beautiful day as well!  Can't wait!
