This weekend was perfect... we had a great time at the river!  

Now, it's time for another week... a busy one at that.  I have lots to do in very little time!  I leave Wednesday for my trip and I'm so excited... there's just so much to do between now and then.  So, little blog might get a bit neglected for about a week or so.  Bare with me this week as I share some great pics/editorials and then I will be back in full swing when I return from my voyage at sea. :)

My little buddy graduated from preschool tonight!  We were so excited for him.  Aunt T (me) got him a new lunch box for him to use in kindergarten.  I was so proud... especially when he used his little rolled up diploma as a telescope on stage.  What I loved most was when he started waving to us in the middle of the ceremony... and screaming, "HI AUNT T!!!  HI G!!!  HI MOMMY!!! HI DADDY!!!"  It was too cute!  I can't even begin to describe how much I love my little stinker.    

Oh... I almost forgot to mention something good!  My sister went to Build-A-Bear and got him a little graduation dog with a marker so all of his friends in class could sign it.  Well, after the ceremony he handed me the dog and said, "Here Aunt T, you sign it too..."  I gladly took the little dog and started to write but I wanted to make sure I wrote where he wanted me to... and almost all of the room on this poor little pup was taken.  I asked and he responded with, "Will you sign his booty?"  Ahem... "Sure buddy, why not!"  So with my entire family rolling with laughter I did as my sweet nephew asked and I signed the little dog's rear.  I wrote...

happy mother's day...

The 2 most important women in my life...

My mom... my best friend.  She knows me better than I know myself.  She knows what days I'm going to call crying and she knows exactly what to say to make it stop.  When I don't feel well she makes me feel better and when I just need someone to talk to she will stay up all night with me if I need her to.  She's my biggest fan and my best critic... she keeps me in line that way.  I don't know what I'd do without her!

My Grandmother... my real life guardian angel.  She still prays for me every night.  She means the world to me, and although I don't get to see her as much as I use to, she still fills my heart with warmth, joy, and more love than you could imagine.  She's so beautiful and the epitome of southern class.  She wears diamonds on all of her fingers (no thumbs), her hair is always poofed to high heavens, and she is always dressed to the nines.  She's worn the same make-up my entire life and always smells so lovely.  She and my late granddaddy bought me my first diamond when I was 11!  I love her so much and wish I could be near her today.

I used to HATE Mc D's until I discovered this salad.  I haven't eaten it in years but one day my mom and I took my nephew there for a play date and I was forced to order/eat/shove it down my throat.  Eww!  I don't eat beef so I had to stick with chicken and this was the most appealing meal I could find.  I tried it, loved it, and now I want to eat it everyday.  No joke!  It's so good!  I literally eat it 3 times a week.  Usually the nights we don't make dinner... Tues/Thurs because I don't get out of the gym until 8 or so.  I will be eating it tonight too!  Cody's with the guys at the river so I'll be fending for myself for dinner.  Mc D's salad and a tea it is!

It's time for a little update...

I'm still trying to take them but I simply forget.  I really should try to remember because I'd love long beautiful hair but these pills are HUGE and sometimes a struggle to get down. 

It lasted 2 days... it started to irritate my skin.  Too bad because it was really pretty but not worth it.

  

Yep, still spinning regularly.  It's amazing how much better you feel after making time for yourself to go to the gym.  Very happy!  Although, my knees aren't... my tendons don't cooperate as much as I would like for them to.  

  

I'm sorry if I let you down by not reporting on the Zac Posen collection for Target.  I thought it was great but I didn't love it.  So sorry!

#2...

Outfit post #2... a pic from my trip.  This is my favorite jacket!  I literally wear it several times a week and it's a staple on the weekends.  Love it and I highly recommend a light safari-esque jacket for the remainder of the Spring and for those chilly days we sometimes have in the Summer.

Now... onto the hair.  Humidity and I don't mesh well.  This hair is very thin and I usually tease it up in order to create volume/body/umpfff... to create the illusion of thickish hair.  I don't know how but with a vigorous arm workout and amazing hairspray I make it work.  Well, Memphis wasn't taking it... as soon as I walked out of the hotel every morning my hair fell immediately.  I may live in the south but that still doesn't make it enjoyable or mean I'm use to walking outside and being blasted by a thick wall of moist air.  {Gross... that's exactly what it is.}  Anyway, humidity killed my hair all week.  

{That hotel had the best mirror to take pictures in... now the backdrop doesn't really suite but it worked.  Bare with me until I get one of my full lengths put on the wall.  I need to do a little rearranging in the apartment before I'm ready to take more outfit pics.  Shouldn't be too long until I get that taken care of.}

I will be driving home today so please take part in the celebration for me!  I didn't bring anything festive to wear... except for my beautiful new scarf... I'll throw that on!  Maybe I can swing by a Taco Bell on the drive home?

Mmm... yes I did.  Notice the grease stains on the bag.  Yeah.  Well, since I'm in Memphis I thought it would be slightly un-American if I didn't eat real Memphis BBQ.  So I did it in the most lady like way imaginable... I ordered a salad.  Pulled chicken salad and then a side of fries... I had to. :)  So I called in my order, plugged the address into Simon {GPS}, and then went on my way to get my good ol' southern meal.  I got there, got my salad but didn't see my fries... so I kindly mentioned the missing fries to the woman and she asked me to sit tight for just a second while she got them... no biggie!  Next thing I know she hands me a bag with a big cheery smile and sent me on my way.  The bag was so full... I was a little shocked but didn't think much about it until I got back to my room.  Here's what I came home with...

1) BBQ Salad... which I did order

2) BBQ sandwhich... did not order

3) French Fries... yes yes!

4) Another order of Fries... hmmm... didn't order that either

5) Cole Slaw... Nope not me either!

6) Banana Pudding... Didn't order but incredibly thankful for this mistake.

So... I ended up with a feast!  I feel as if they felt bad for leaving out my fries so they just went ahead and handed me another entire meal.  What did I do with all of this unwanted southern cooked soul food???  Well, the sweet little girl at the front desk was in the process of heating up her lean cuisine when I got back so I couldn't help but hand it over to her.  Hello... lean cuisine or BBQ???  Duh!  Although, I did keep the pudding... couldn't give that away!  :) 

Is it weird that the most exciting things I have to post about on my trip are food?  I can't help it!!!  Shopping isn't too great here... sorry Memphis.  I need an Urban or Anthro to get me going.  Night life... well I can't really do anything during the week because I must sleep.  I mentioned that I might play... nope.  I also mentioned that I might go to the gym... nope.  I'm by myself so exploring the city might not be my safest bet... and I think my dad might have a panic attack if I did.  Love you Daddy I'm safe!

Lots of requests for info on my shoes I wore in outfit post #1.  They are actually Dolce Vita from last year... but the above are a pretty good match.  I actually love the color of these and they're leather instead of suede.  Don't get me wrong though... I still love mine!

Outfit post #1... I look mad but I swear I'm not.  {It was at 6:30 this morning}  I'm still not too keen on taking pics of just myself so you might have to get use to my head being tipped down.  It just works better that way!  

Sorry for the delay in the post... but my wifi has been a bit complicated.  

PS:  Made it to Memphis just fine.  The drive was absolutely beautiful!  If I wasn't in a rental I would have pulled over and taken a pic of the lovely flowers on the side of the highway.  Sometimes I forget how beautiful Arkansas really is!

Traveling today!!!  I'm excited to get out of town for a bit.  Vacay???   Not necessarily.  It's for work but I always love traveling with the company... it's always a great experience.

Traveling tomorrow... thought you might like to know how yours truly gets ready for a trip.  This is the only way I will have everything I need/want to have while I'm away.  I still need to add the necessities but here it goes...

1)  Traveling... lace sweatshirt, American Apparel Leggings, and a scarf... it supposed to be rainy a chilly tomorrow afternoon.

2)  Work... New abstract silk top, ankle pants/yellow stitching, gray long and lean, necklace w/ my staples, and my favorite open toes flat booties.

Play... same outfit, Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges

3) Work... watercolor chiffon top, ankle pants/dark stitching, white l/l, gray cardi if I need it, gold sandals, bangles and staples.

Play... probably will play at the gym this evening.

4)  Work... the infamous romper, sleeveless sweater vest, favorite boots, earrings and staples.

{this is an alternate outfit... just in case I'm not in the mood for the previous}

5) Work/Travel... cargo/safari-esque lightweight jacket, white cotton tunic, distressed denim, watercolor scarf, gold sandals, necessary jewels and staples 

My duffel is already packed with my gym wear, tennis, intimates... and I'm sure there will be unnecessary things I might need added to the bag just in case.  Cosmetic bag is busting at the seams with toiletries... I might need to transfer these to a bigger bag... since I still haven't packed the necessities.  My notebook and magazines are tucked under my outfit for tomorrow... it will be going in the bag with my laptop, camera, iPod, cords, and what-not.  This bag will probably ride in the front seat!  I might even buckle my precious cargo in.  Yes, yes... I'm driving to my destination.  Road trip anyone? 

My bedding???  Where's my bedding... you ask???  It's folded and ready to go on the trip as well... I'm a little weird about hotel beds.  So I'm bringing my own blankets!  Hence the plain white down playing the part of my actual bedding.  ;)

Now, all finished.  Enough taking care of things... I'm going to go enjoy the weekend.
