Happy Friday all... and Happy Halloween weekend!!! I hope your weekend is filled with amazing costumes and too many sugary treats.
By the way, we aren't taking part in the spook-tastic tradition this year. Although if we were... I'd be a cupcake. The most lovely cupcake you're ever seen with tons of sparkle. Yes, yes. I found the perfect dress and I have all of the glitzy goodness to complete the look. All dolled up with a cherry on top... literally.
I am completely prepared to whip it all together in the event we have a change of plans. It's looking like we're sticking with our original plans for this weekend which I couldn't be more excited about. Weekend retreat??? Yes please.
Enjoy your parties... and trick or treat!!!

Tonight... take out sushi and luscious red wine. The perfect setting for me to catch up on a little after one's fancy. As far as workspace... mine consists of my lap which is usually nestled on mine or Cody's couch. Now please excuse me... I must get to work.
PS: I do work best when accompanied by a tear and share pack of peanut m&m's... and yes, we actually tear and share them.

My latest color addiction... Sally Hansen's Mudslide. I'm can't keep it off my fingers and my toes. Please join my obsession... it's just a matter of you running to Walgreens and grabbing this lovely little bottle of mocha perfection.
Come on... no one likes a naked nail.

Hello lovelies... I'm back from my weekend adventure. It was much needed and thoroughly enjoyed. There's just something about escaping from the everyday routine that's simply revitalizing. I spent the weekend in New Orleans... walking in the city, spending time with loved ones, and eating incredible food. Lingering in the French Quarter is a great past time for me so every time I go back it's somewhat nostalgic... I could roam for hours just looking and soaking up the scenery.
This is a conglomeration of what my wardrobe consisted of the past few days. Mostly vintage or american apparel tees, my favorite skinnies, a comfortable pair of embellished flats, a few jewels, and I couldn't go without my messenger and my favorite sunglasses.
Although I had lovely weekend it's time to get back to a bit of normalcy... and a few of my favorite things I left behind. {Cody... duh, computer, my favorite perfume, spin class... because I ate like a queen, clients... although I did a little shopping for you, and my snazzy bike}

These images really excite me for fall and the outdoors. I love camping, hiking, just being outdoors this time of year. Now, this picture will be a bit different in real life though - my real life. We'll swap the gigantic lake for the Kings River... the tatted up dude for my handsome boyfriend... the hot model in fur for me in my poncho. You get my drift... and instead of the grey backdrop we'll be surrounded by the beautiful fall foliage and and hopefully very few bugs. I hope it's as beautiful in your area as it is here.

{because I'm addicted}
YES!!!
I typically am a fairly healthy eater... except for the weekends. During the week I'll stick to fruits, veggies, yogurt, salad, granola... and then we'll make a healthy dinner... you get my drift. Then there's the weekend. I love the weekends not only because it's the weekend but because we normally eat seriously good food! I absolutely love it! Normally we have a pizza night... pizza and beer... yes please! This past weekend we had a date night at Hugo's... even better. They have the best spinach artichoke dip in town and my favorite chicken sandwich... YES!!! {it's my favorite date night place} During the weekend I also frequent the peanut m&m's entirely too much. Unless we make a stop for ice cream or cupcakes! Yes, I might be a little crazy... but I truly get excited about it!
I'm not sure this is normal at my age but the older I get the more excited about good food I get... it might also be because I restrict it from my diet 5 days out of the week. Whatever it is... it makes me really enjoy my weekends. ;)
Have a lovely Tuesday... and feel free to have a cupcake for me!!!

Today I took the day off... mental health day if you will. I am sleeping in, probably running by starbucks for some pumpkin loaf {tis the season} and coffee, and then hitting the road to Little Rock. Remember these...???
I posted them last week. I did not make the purchase then and we sold out... they were unavailable online in my size... and the only store I could track them down in is Little Rock. So, I put them on lock-down and I'm on my way! Although, I was browsing last night and they're available online again. Really F21??? You had to wait until I already made the purchase???
Oh well! I'm a sucker for instant gratification and I love a good day trip!
Have a lovely weekend all!!!

Friends... meet my food bag. Yes, I have a food bag... it's a better cuter version of a lunch box. It's kind of a joke around the workplace but is saves me so much time on my short little lunch not to mention the amount of money I save by bringing my lunch.

Ladies... if you don't know her yet this is Emily of cupcakesandcashmere... my muse. I absolutely adore her and her style... please check her out of you haven't before. With this being said... she is my inspiration for this weeks recreation post. Let's see...
A classic pinstripe oxford... a great staple for anyone's closet. I chose the oxford over the tee she has on to add a little structure for the lack-there-of in the next piece.
I like the striped cardi instead of the blazer. Don't get me wrong I love a crisp blazer but cardigans tend to be easier to throw on for my lifestyle... for instance, I'm all over the place all day long... the cardi allows more flexibility.
I love a good daytime sequin. I prefer a matte sequin though... it's a bit more subtle. This is a great alternative to what Emily is wearing if you are up for a sequin skirt.
Because I know my clients too well... I know you love the sequin mini look but would prefer something more versatile. Hence the skirt above... it's a textured body con mini... similar look--less flashy.
Naturally, I would pair all of this back with my boots. Feel free to go ahead with the bootie like she has... love the look but I tend to throw a casual twist on everything I wear.
Finally... the beautiful necklace.
{yes, this is the one I spoke of last week... slightly obsessed}
Now, throw all of this together... wear it separately... whatever you please. Just don't forget to tuck on your oxford and push your sleeves up. Also, don't forget to show off your gorgeous necklace by leaving the top few buttons unbuttoned.
All done!
Have a lovely Tuesday bloggers!
{almost forgot to mention these goodies are all courtesy of F21... except for emily's}

I'm in love with this clutch...
Great color... nice shape.
if you fancy a classier look...
I'm obsessed with this color and the off-kilter zippers...
I actually own this pretty little number... I normally wouldn't purchase a pink bag but the scalloping and chain shoulder strap sold me. Plus, it's subtle... more dusty rose than just pink.
This is my everyday bag... I'm a sucker for a good messenger.

Today was a beautiful day in Northwest Arkansas...
we spent the day hiking at the Buffalo River...
typical tourist, always looking up...
and taking many pics...
so handsome.
We then found our way to a small pizza parlor where we stuffed our starving faces... the pictures stop there. Although the fun did not... did you know there are people on the road who still wave when they pass a car while driving??? Yes, yes... it was an entertaining drive home while we returned the favor of the friendly waving folks in the tiny 2-lane towns of Arkansas.
