Hello hello... Happy Wednesday!

Would you all like to hear a story???  Sure you would... here it goes.

I mentioned earlier this week about mustering up something fancy in the kitchen to bring to Cody's parents for Thanksgiving dinner... more like dessert.  I ran across a pumpkin cookie recipe a friend gave me that I thought would be absolutely perfect... a unique take on the scrumptious holiday favorite.  {somewhat easily do-able as well}  So last night I marched in to the grocery and went directly to the baking aisle.  {it's imperative that you understand how foreign I am to this area of the grocery}  I pulled up the recipe and started loading my basket... vanilla, brown sugar, eggs... easy.  I kept going... and ended up slowing down.  More like staring at the flour.  Why on earth are the 57 different kinds of flour?  The recipe calls for 3 cups of flour... that's it.  So I passed the four and went on to the pumpkin spice... couldn't find it.  {I might have been a bit flustered/overwhelmed which may have clouded my vision while attempting to locate the miniature bottle of spice.}  So I skipped the spice and went on to the baking powder... what the???  

I found myself standing in the middle of the aisle... staring.  Just staring.  This started as an easily attainable little bake session that turned into something I would relate to climbing Mt Everest barefoot.  

After the realization that this was turning out to be anything but easy... I left.  I know what I'm good at and baking just isn't my cup of tea.  Times like this I turn to Betty or Rick.  Betty Crocker or Rick's Bakery.  I'm going back to the baking aisle today hoping to find something festive in a box... I can make mini festive cupcakes.  If that fails me then I will head on over to my favorite bakery that always seems to put a smile on my face... Rick's to save the day!  

  So I'm no domestic goddess... I'm alright with it.   My apron on the other hand... a hit in the kitchen!

With that being said, on to one of my latest obsessions... sequins.  Sequins aren't just for dressing up these days.  I find myself wearing them a little too often and they're such an easy way to add a little sparkle any of your everyday favorites.  Who doesn't love a dash of sparkle in their day?

  

Sequins, floral, olive, combat, and a pop of my favorite color... this little number is everything I love. Also the perfect get-up for a long day at work and then much anticipated dinner for 2.  Date night on a Tuesday... yes please!

Wrapping up a wonderful weekend... thanks to a great group of friends and lots of good laughs.  We had an amazing time and I can't wait for our next adventure. 

Now, let's get down to business.  It's almost Thanksgiving!!!  I'm so thrilled... we're spending turkey day with at his parents this year.  Because it's almost Thanksgiving there are a few too many things going through my mind... 

1.  work... black friday... busy... work... busy... black friday

2.  Fallon & Cindy... I'm counting on you to make my workouts incredibly difficult this week

{holiday food is too good to pass up}

3.  Thanksgiving... we should bring something... I'm no Betty Crocker so this is going to be difficult.  {researching recipes now}

4.  Black Friday... BRING IT!!!  I'm as ready as I'll ever be... as of now.

It's finally Friday y'all!  Cody and I are on our way to the woods with our closest friends.  Must have items for this tiny excursion...  plaid poncho, my all-time favorite leggings for the utmost comfort, uggs {guilty pleasure... will elaborate at a later date}, headbands {for a little top notch action... this hair will not be fixed}, north face {in case the poncho doesn't pull through}, hiking gear {i thoroughly enjoy the outdoors... minus bugs}, and how could I forget... food for days and libations for weeks.  Good time... party of 6???  Yes please.    

I say "the woods," it's actually a cabin on the beautiful Buffalo River.  The Ozarks this time of year are simply divine.

little late...

Oh this day... appointments, appointments, appointments.

It's one of those days... I actually have a day off during the week so I went ahead and scheduled any appointments/meetings I needed to get taken care of between the hours of 9-5 M-F.  With that being said... it's been a fairly busy day.  I've been to the dentist, to the doctor, ran by a clients house for little consult, made it for coffee with one of my regulars, and now I'm slipping back into my house shoes for a little after one's fancy.  

You may look at my day and think it's doesn't look too busy... then take into account that I've been working overnights to execute Holiday Floorset.  Also note that this body doesn't work well on little sleep.  WHICH BRINGS ME TO... I overslept.  I never oversleep.  That word is hardly even in my vocabulary.  I find it hard to believe that I can manage to get up for work every morning 5:45 but not be able to budge at 9 am on my day off.  So, 30 minutes before my first appointment I darted out of bed, rinsed my face, and pinned my hair in some sort of loop in the back of my head.  I threw on some clothes and ran out the door in something that looked like this...
