pocket full of posies...

All things pink catching my eye these days... a rarity indeed but I'll take while it lasts.

On the mind -
spring, flowers, warmth, sunny days, dresses

Reality -
winter, snow, ice, cold, grey skies, ear muffs

Hmm... Happy Monday.

authenticity...

Today is a very special day... yours truly is featured on the most wonderful local website Life in NWA.  It's definitely a daily must-read on my list.  Please check it out here.  I said a little something like this...
.............................................................................................................................................

Why Hello Life in NWA...
Thank you so much for allowing me to come scribble in your space for a day.  Allow me to introduce myself... my name is Tess Labeth and my little gem is after one's fancy.  She's is the perfect compilation of anything and everything I find that might resemble a twinkle in my eye - style, beauty, design, lifestyle, personal... you now, the whole shebang.  She is also the perfect way to put a little bug in your ear about a styling session you may or may not be in need of... hmm.  Enough about me... let's move onto something I pulled together for you.

Mrs Life in NWA and I share a love for pretty pics... so I gathered some favorites from my collection to share with you.

Such beautiful inspiration... I hope you enjoy these as much as we do.
Now I must admit, these photos are not mine.  Which leads me to this brilliant statement...

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, painting, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery- celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: ‘it’s not where you take things from- it’s where you take things to'.'
{RUSSH Magazine}

Absolutely... I couldn't agree more!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for having me.
Be authentic.

woolen...

So last week I begged and pleaded for the most perfect snow day...
which I was so graciously granted.  It was nice to have a break from reality and get back to neutral on a semi-spontaneous note.  While I thoroughly enjoyed my adult snow day, I must admit that I'm over it... I'm officially over winter.  Cold and I do not mesh.  It's as if my body reaches a point of shutting down when I subject myself to the frigid temperatures for an extended amount of time.  Because this awful over-exaggerated emotion seems so very real to me, I do everything in my power to avoid catching a chill.

Like so...

Now this is not an everyday occurrence but it is the perfect representation of what I wish I could wear while Old Man Winter continues to grace us with his presence day after day.  This was my snow day ensemble as we made our way to the perfect hill for an attempt at sledding... attempt failed.

{hardly an ensemble and a bit scary... i must admit}

 You may be wondering what I actually wear to beat that chill...
something along these lines.

Nice and cozy... just the way I like it.
A bit bland with my color selection but these gray skies aren't the most inspiring.

On a lighter note... apparently it's beautiful in sunny California.

{song of style}

uh huh... yeah.

stay cozy arkansas.

mystical...

{SS 2011 - fashion gone rogue}

Usually on the weekends I find myself lost in the blogosphere browsing for anything that catches my eye.  Somewhere in the midst of my mindless browsing I ran across this collection by Jenny Packham.  It's beautiful and somewhat magical... I love.

A little background on Packham...

 A graduate from the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art, Packham’s regular design presence on the red carpets of Los Angeles infuses the Hollywood crowd with the glamour they adore. Her designs have been selected for stylistically acclaimed and Oscar nominated film and television productions including Sex and the City and many others.

 Honored in Los Angeles as Hollywood Style Designer of the Year, International Couture Bridal Designer of the Year 2007 and British Bridal Dress Designer of the Year 2008, Jenny Packham’s luxury design house is world renowned.

Her presence in some of the world’s premier stores from Harrods to Bergdorf Goodman reinforces her international appeal and demand.  Packham has fast become one of the UK’s most regarded designers with not only creative talent, but commercial success.

Another that caught my eye...

Yet another masterpiece by Packham on Sandra Bullock at the Golden Globes this past Sunday.  Simply lovely.

hideaway...

This weekend we went to our favorite little hideaway for C's birthday.  In case you haven't been to Hugo's in downtown Fayetteville, AR then please... let me enlighten you.  It's a hole-in-the-wall burger joint with red and white checked table cloths.  There's very little light and the only way in is down the steep cement stairs that lead to the underground hidden treasure... it's rustic and always wonderful.  The character in this old basement is indescribable and the food... there are no words.

For us... pure perfection.

happy monday.

irish cream...

{via rockstar diaries}

Brrr... it's a bit chilly out.  Hope you are staying nice and cozy!

Winter is not my favorite season... but we continuously try to make the best of it.  One wonderful aspect of the chilly months are the festive spirits that go right along with it.  C and I have always loved spiking our hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps but our other indulgence happens to be Irish Cream.  Thick, rich, and uber delish!  We've been wanting to make our own and ended up finally crossing it off our list here recently.

We used this recipe and it's absolutely delightful served on the rocks or mixed with your favorite cup of joe.

cheers.

bucket list...

Hello all... it's time to share another list.

One of my favorite bloggers, Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere, inspired me on this one.  Last week she posted this... a picture of her new years resolutions framed.  I loved the idea because so many of us make resolutions but tend to forget them after a few weeks.  By framing them and placing them in a place frequently visited then there's no excuse not to stick to the goals.  Instead of resolutions, C and I came up with a 2011 Bucket List.
Here's mine...

It may be sitting on a table here but it will soon be hanging next to my jewelry chest.

Onto something a little more fun... Elin Kling of Style by Kling is the first fashion blogger to collaborate with H&M.  So thrilling... except that it's only available in Sweden.  It's minimalistic with a twist of boho and I'm wishing I was somewhere closer to Sweden right now.  See below for a taste of her collection...

There are several more wonderful pieces but I do believe these would be my picks.

Wrapping it up... I hope your day in simply splendid.  Until tomorrow my friends...
