Homemade Sprinkles cupcakes... yes please.  I've never actually been to a Sprinkles - ugh, I know - but C brought this home from one of his trips a few months ago.  Late one night this past weekend, we decided upon an impromptu bake session.  The process - well executed, messy, and quite hilarious... the end result - unbelievable.

Popping in on this Sunday morning to bring you a little something special.  I was recently asked to do a bio of myself and I thought it wouldn't be fair if I didn't share it with my loyal readers.  Some of you I know, most of you I don't... so without further adieu, meet the me behind after one's fancy.

Allow me to introduce myself… my name is Tess Labeth and my little gem is after one’s fancy. She is the perfect compilation of anything and everything I find that might resemble a twinkle in my eye – style, beauty, design, lifestyle, personal.  My love of style and grace started when I was young… mainly influenced by my grandmother’s rich, sophisticated taste and my mother’s undeniable beauty and creativity.  I received my first diamond at age 9 – just the beginning.

A Northwest Arkansas native, I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2007 with a degree in Apparel Studies.  Some of my greatest years were spent at the local favorite Mason’s Boutique… 5 to be exact, and I’ve spent the past 3 years doing visuals for fashion phenomenon Forever 21.  About 7 years ago I started “closet consulting” which grew into what you now know as after one’s fancy.  In 2008, after one’s fancy was official and I’ve been living the personal styling dream ever since.  I truly love styling and the way it makes people feel.  Helping people own their beauty is what I was meant to do.

My personal style is a combination of casual/relaxed and feminine/romantic - always soft with an edge.  I’m not myself if my hair isn’t a mess… and my life wouldn’t be the same without mascara and moisturizer.  I love silk, lace, and the perfect cut of denim that fits in all the right places.  I have a weakness for any shade of blush and I could wear olive every day.  I don’t love wearing the color black… and I have a strong obsession with any sugary creation that may involve frosting.  My life is full of color and soft palettes… in which I have no complaints.

While fashion plays a huge part in what I do for a living, it’s style that I focus on when working with a client or even dressing myself.  Personal style and lifestyle are the most important attributes when creating a wardrobe... trends are secondary but necessary for keeping up with the times.  From the words of Coco Chanel herself, “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”
